It was a beautiful late summer day when this lovely pair of software engineers/video game designers got married in a beautiful intimate ceremony at the Salish Lodge & Spa with close family and friends. They’ve actually been together almost 16 years, so it was time! They’ve been through so many adventures together, notably Japan and the Studio Ghibli Park (which looks super fun), and so many more. And they also love Twin Peaks and Snoqualmie Falls, so having their wedding at the Salish Lodge was pretty much a no-brainer for them!

Oh, and I should also mention that they love biscuits too (he’s also getting into sourdough bread, but that’s another story)… 🙂 So yes, the biscuits… I believe the origin of the biscuits idea stemmed from a certain music video about biscuits with honey sauce and butter spread that took place in a thrift store by a rather quirky older couple. For those inclined, a quick google search will yield the aforementioned video quite easily (there really aren’t that many such videos out there). And so, in honor of Taste the Biscuit, there was a biscuit service served before the main course, complete with, of course, butter spread and honey sauce. And I must say, I was genuinely impressed by how deftly (and quickly) the gentlemen pouring honey sauce on everyone’s biscuits was able to lean over and carefully spoon out the sticky honey without so much as a single drop getting spilled. That is skill! And in all seriousness, I have always admired and respected just how professional the staff at Salish are. They really do put in great effort to ensure their guests have a wonderful experience!

I started the day photographing the groom and his brother playing video games in the room, including the game that he and his now wife are working on together (not pictured here because of course that must remain secret until its release). Meanwhile, the bride was getting ready wearing a beautiful nightgown that her mom had made (she also made a beautiful jacket for her too and plenty of halloween costumes over the years)! And to top it off, her absolutely gorgeous dress was actually purchased at a thrift shop for less than $100! Of course, it needed some alterations for the perfect fit, but still! The detail on it was just beautiful and it was the perfect dress for her! Truly, they both looked amazing and so at ease together!

Thank you so much for the opportunity to capture your beautiful wedding! It was a pleasure working with you and your families and friends! I’ll let the images tell the rest of the story – enjoy a peak at a few of the many highlights from your wedding day!
