We lucked out with a dry and warm-ish February day for this lovely couple’s wedding at the beautiful Salish Lodge in Snoqualmie. I don’t get to photograph very many winter weddings here in the Pacific Northwest because people tend to go into hibernation of sorts during the winter months here, but when I do, it is a special treat because I love the moody skies and the sun stays relatively low in the sky, making for much better light overall than you’d get in the summer. Plus, truth be told, I’ll take 40 degrees any day over 80+ degree heat!
Nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains and surrounded by nature, the Salish Lodge is the perfect escape from city life. It’s got a rustic charm to it that ties in with the towering Evergreens so well. And the fact that it sits at the top of Snoqualmie Falls is definitely a huge bonus! So when these two reached out about getting married right here in Snoqualmie, I was definitely excited! They got ready in their rooms at Salish, with their family and wedding party also staying there as well just down the hall, so it doesn’t get more convenient than that! I love capturing the bride and groom getting ready – there is so much anticipation and excitement! I loved the moments that the bride shared with her daughter, helping her get ready. Her dress was absolutely gorgeous with its lace detail! And then it was time for their beautiful first look outside by the observation decks. The wedding party ran crowd control for us so that these two could share a few minutes without random people walking by as they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day. It was lovely!
Their beautiful ceremony and reception that followed were full of so many wonderful moments. It truly was a joy to be able to capture this special day in the lives of this absolutely wonderful couple and the lives of their daughters, who are now, by the way, officially sisters! They waited quite a while for this and I’m so happy for them and honored to have had the opportunity to photograph their wedding!
Congratulations you two! Thank you so much for letting me share this day with you and capture these (and so many more!) moments. It was truly a pleasure working with you and your family and friends! Enjoy a sneak peek at a few of the many highlights and I wish you all the best in your new lives together as husband and wife! Congrats!!!
