Above Snoqualmie Falls with a steady roar of the water rushing by and crashing into the river below, B &R were married at the beautiful Salish Lodge in Snoqualmie. Just a day after we hiked into the valley below for some photographs at the base of the falls, they exchanged wedding rings at the top of the falls in front of an intimate gathering of their families. The steady roar of the water below provided a powerful ambience to the ceremony, much like the sound of waves crashing onto a rugged coastline during a windstorm and served to elevate and empower the ceremony even more. As the emotions welled up and they tearfully read their vows to each other, it was absolutely beautiful. There was hardly a dry eye in the Hidden Terrace that evening.
It was truly an incredible day. The way they helped each other get ready was super sweet, especially when it came time to put on the boutonnieres. The corsages went on the ladies’ wrists quite easily, but the boutonnieres were a bit of a challenge. I was having so much fun capturing them trying to pin them on each other! I certainly didn’t want to interfere and ruin the moment, so it played out as one of my favorite moments of the day (and I think once they see the images, it might be one of theirs as well). And while I’ve never seen boutonnieres pinned this way, who’s to say that there really is a right or wrong way for such things anyway. 🙂
They also mad a special announcement. With their families gathering to celebrate their wedding, they decided to share some very exciting news just before the ceremony… they are expecting a new baby boy! Through a surrogate Mom, they are soon going to be a new family! I loved the gender reveal with the onesies featuring their new little guy’s name! It was such a wonderful moment and the perfect time to share the news!
Congratulations you two – for your wedding and for your new baby boy! And thank you so much for the opportunity to photograph your beautiful wedding! It was such a pleasure working with you throughout your engagement, pre-wedding shoot, and wedding and I’m so happy for both of you! I wish you many years of happiness together and as a new family! Congratulations and enjoy another sneak peek at a few of the many highlights!
Thank you to the wonderful vendors who helped make this lovely intimate wedding happen!
