The sun was out on a chilly late March day when these two got married at the beautiful Kiana Lodge in Poulsbo, WA. Nestled along the inlets and bays that surround the Puget Sound, the Kiana Lodge sits right up against the water. Ad the hint of salt in the air and the conversational barks of the sea lions echoing all over the bay remind you that this body of water is not just another lake, but part of the ocean. And while the oceans are all connected and encircle the earth, this wonderful couple and their families coming from all over to celebrate these two and to create their own connections with each other.
We held their first look in the gardens just above the beach where they saw each other on their wedding day for the first time. And after some time together, they joined their guests for blessings and to sign the ketubah at the lodge before their lovely wedding ceremony in the atrium. Then the dancing began. And it really only stopped briefly for some food and toasts before resuming again and continuing well into the night. I love the Jewish tradition of the hora, where the guests all dance in circles around the couple and then hoist them in the air on chairs! These two looked absolutely amazing and I loved how they could make each other smile throughout the day.
And did they ever love to dance! They danced for their couple photographs on the beach, when we went to the pier, and kept dancing until the last song played out and the lights came back on. As the night wound down and the guests made their way to their cars, we could hear the sea lions barking once again, perhaps in their own way echoing our wedding celebration.
Congratulations you two! It was an honor and pleasure to work with you and your families and friends! I wish you many many years of happiness together as husband and wife! Enjoy a few of the highlights from your wedding day!
