For this adventure senior portrait session, we opted to meet up at the pass so she could have her senior portraits in the snow! The scene getting in was a bit chaotic as the road was literally a sheet of ice full of giant pothole size bumps, but once you stepped out of your toboggan, I mean vehicle, getting around was pretty easy. We hiked the last mile or so in and found some gorgeous lighting and even found a few spots where the water hadn’t frozen over yet, which was really great because when the wind died down, you could see the trees beautifully reflected in the water! Both of her parents came along for the session and I thought it was really great that she really wanted her parents to be in the photographs as well. Now she’ll have some beautiful images of all of them together for when she’s away in college!
We brought along some blankets, which served the dual purpose of keeping her warm, but they also made great props as well! And I should mention that she can really jump! She is a talented sprinter at her school, so that likely has something to do with it. I asked her if she wanted to try doing a few jumps and she shrugged and said, “sure.” So we tried it a few times and she caught some pretty good air! And who knows, maybe she’ll continue in track and field in college as well!
Thank you all so much for the absolutely wonderful session! And a special thanks to her father as well who did and excellent job standing in as my lighting assistant! 🙂 Congratulations to this amazing, talented senior and the Class of 2023!
