At the end of September, I took a trip to the San Francisco Bay Area to photograph a wedding and stayed a few extra days to photograph a few of the wonderful families I’ve had the privilege of photographing on several occasions over the years. I’ve been photographing this lovely family just about every year since their youngest was not even 2 years old! Now they are all as tall as their parents!!! It really is crazy how fast kids grow up! And whenever I’m going through a rough patch in my business as a family (and wedding) photographer, it is wonderful families like this one that really appreciate the work that I do for them and remind me how important that work that I do is. The fact that they keep coming back to me year after year says it all. They know that I put my heart and soul into their session. Every. Single. Time.
This family lives in the Bay Area and wanting something more iconic this time, we met up at one of my favorite San Francisco beaches for some beautiful sunset photographs on the beach and of course, the Golden Gate bridge! We definitely lucked out with the sun coming out for us, as all too often, fog can roll in during the late afternoon! We had a great time exploring, trying to race the waves as they surged up the beach, climbing some of the rocks, and getting plenty wet too! It was pretty awesome! Word of caution though, be careful parking out there! Thieves can literally spot a rental car miles away and within minutes, my rental had been broken into (I literally ducked around a corner for barely a minute or so, came back, and found a side window smashed and the trunk already searched!). Thankfully, nothing was stolen! But I think lesson learned – I’ll probably avoid taking a rental into SF in the future!
Thank you all for the wonderful family session! It was so great to see you all again and so much fun capturing you all together at the beach! Wishing you all a very Happy Holidays and I look forward to more adventures in the future!
