I always love a trip to Mount Rainier. There’s just some part of me deep inside that finally feels “home” whenever I’m surrounded by such natural beauty above 5000 feet. The narrow, spire-like trees, adapted for long winters with heavy snow, the meadows full of vibrant greens and wildflowers, the jagged peaks, and the mountain, just absolutely towering over everything else… It is a place that will always be special to me. So when this wonderful family from Texas reached out about scheduling a photography session for their family during their trip to Seattle and wanted something in the mountains, I was pretty excited for sure! And with the most of the remaining snow just finally melting away with the recent warm weather, Mount Rainier was the perfect place to bask in PNW natural beauty!
They’ve been making trips around the country for years, with the goal of visiting every Major League baseball stadium together. So yeah, they’re pretty avid baseball fans and as part of their trip, hung around for the All Star game festivities in Seattle as well! And they only have just a couple more stadiums to go and they will have seen them all! I think that is such a great undertaking and a fun way to spend time together as a family and see some amazing sites along the way as well!
We had a great time exploring the area, making sure to remain on the trails and leave no trace to protect the beautiful, fragile meadows. It does pose a bit of a challenge when photographing groups with more people like this, especially when you’ve got the bright sun to contend with as well, but we had a great time and captured some beautiful images as we explored some short trails. Thank you all for the opportunity to photograph your lovely family! It was a pleasure meeting all of you and a lot of fun capturing these images! Enjoy a sneak peek at a few of the many highlights!
