After their beautiful wedding at the Salish Lodge, I met up with these two for an aftershoot at the base of Snoqualmie Falls. It was incredible! And thankfully, save for a few light sprinkles, the rain held off until later that evening! Getting down the trail and into the area at the base of the falls is almost always a muddy endeavor, especially as we get into the fall, so I always recommend going down to the falls on a different day from your wedding. And waiting until a day or two after the wedding (as opposed to before) is usually ideal because you’ll be less worried about getting your wedding attire dirty since you’ve already worn it down the aisle!

This day was pretty warm for mid-October and with the resent rains and mountain snowmelt, there was a ton of water cascading down the falls! It was quite impressive! After getting a few images with the falls, we decided to head back into the forest for better cover from the rain and also because with all of the ferns and mossy trees glistening with moisture, it was truly magical in there! Tree branches literally completely clothed in green moss draping, bending, and twisting into interesting shapes gave total PNW rainforest vibes. And at twice the average annual precipitation as Seattle, Snoqualmie looks like it could be part of the Hoh Rainforest! It’s true, you really don’t have to drive 4 hours to get to experience the rainforest – we’ve got the same look right here (although don’t get me wrong – the Hoh Rainforest is beautiful)!

These two are just so great together and we had an awesome time finding cool places to photograph before the light started to fade and it was time for these two to drive back home in the southern part of WA and get ready for their honeymoon in Japan!!!
