Let’s face it, winter in Snoqualmie (and the Seattle area for that matter) is often grey and wet. But, there are times when winter displays its strength in the most beautiful ways. Sometimes, instead of fierce driving rain or pelting snow, winter transforms the landscape with a far more gentle touch. Pine needles glistening with frost… or the silent softness that comes with a blanket of new fallen snow… or the landscape receding into dense fog… There really are so many occasions to photograph in the winter time: sledding, building snowmen, making snow angels, or enjoying the tranquility of nature together as a family without the Summer crowds… Going skiing… And with fewer bookings during the winter comes greater flexibility when it comes to timing your session and choosing a location. Want to catch the frost on a cool, clear morning? Sure! We’ll schedule your session for one of those days. How about snow? Keep an eye on the forecast and schedule your session if more of that white stuff is headed our way. Or, if you get tired of waiting for snow in the Puget Sound lowlands, lets head up to Snoqualmie Pass for a skiing or sledding session! Or just fun in the snow! Why not get a little adventurous and treat your family to a winter photography session!
This is the view of Mount Si and surrounding Cascade Mountain foothills from my neighborhood in Snoqualmie Ridge (taken December 26, 2017). All my life, I’ve wanted to live in the mountains. Situated only 30 minutes from Seattle, Snoqualmie is an amazing place to call home and and an amazing place to have a family photography session!
