It was a cool Pacific Northwest winter afternoon when Stephanie and Keoni had their elopement at the Salish Lodge in Snoqualmie, WA. Situated about 30 minutes east of Seattle in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, the Salish Lodge is perched on the cliffside, overlooking the beautiful Snoqualmie Falls. As a wedding photographer based in Snoqualmie, I don’t get many opportunities to photograph weddings that take place so close to home, so this was a special treat, especially since Stephanie and Keoni are two of the nicest people I’ve ever met!
With the afternoon skies getting darker and the rain forecasted for later that afternoon and into evening, it was, by most accounts, a pretty typical Pacific Northwest winter day. But for Stephanie and Keoni, it was a day some 14 years in the making, a day they had planned to have sooner, but life got busy with kids, jobs, moving… And so, before embarking on their next journey as a family, leaving the Snoqualmie Valley and the life they had settled into, they decided on January the 18th, 2019, booking a suite at the Salish Lodge for an intimate elopement. It was time.
Their wedding ceremony, held in their suite overlooking Snoqualmie Falls was absolutely beautiful. A tear streamed down Keoni’s left cheek as he read his vows. And in the waning light coming through the windows, they looked at each other with the kind of love that only years of living through the ups and downs of life together can bring, the kind that grows ever stronger over time, the kind that transcends all things. They read their vows not as a rehearsed, practiced speech, but full of emotion and from the heart. There could hardly be a love more genuine.
Congratulations Stephanie & Keoni! I’m so glad that you had the chance to have your wedding while you are still here in Snoqualmie and it was such an honor to be able to photograph it for you! You both make such a sweet couple and I wish you all the best in whatever adventures life brings. Enjoy this sneak peek at a few of the many highlights!
I’m so glad we made it over to the lookout above Snoqualmie Falls just before darkness set in. 🙂 Such a beautiful location and gorgeous couple!
We started in the lobby, where we met up with some friends of the couple – the officiant and his family.
