The Seattle Area has so many absolutely gorgeous places for family photographs! Mount Rainier National Park is within a 2-hour drive of Seattle and with views like you’re about to see, the scenic drive is totally worth it! So when this lovely family of three contacted me wanting to do a session at Mount Rainier in late July, around the peak of wildflower season no less, I was pretty excited! We met up at Tipsoo Lake, a beautiful serene mountain lake at about 5000 feet elevation for their Mount Rainier family photography session. Mount Rainier poses some challenges to photographers, especially when it comes to photographing little ones. Not only can the terrain be rough and hilly, but you have to stay on the narrow trails to preserve the fragile mountain meadows. You can’t just run around in the meadows! After all, the growing season is only about 2-3 months before snow returns. It seems hard to believe, but before WWII, people even drove their cars right up to the lake, nearly completely destroying the meadows! 🙁 Careful transplantation and protection since have restored them (thankfully) for all to enjoy.
Suffice to say, the images are absolutely beautiful and everyone did a great job braving the bugs out there (oh yes, the bugs are out in force)! Thank you all for the absolutely wonderful session! Your daughter is so adorable and I had a great time with all of you! Enjoy a sneak peek at a few of the many highlights!Another gorgeous sunset at Mount Rainier!Who doesn’t like to fly!!!Sometimes it’s just nice to snuggle at the end of an amazing day at Mount Rainier!
