After an amazing 4th of July parade, celebration, and spectacular fireworks show right here in Snoqualmie WA, I left the Seattle area, boarding a plane headed for Sacramento. If you thought we had it hot here this past summer in the Pacific Northwest… well, all it takes is a trip to Sacramento to lend a little perspective! Mid-upper 90s is just a typical summer day in Sacramento, where it routinely eclipses 100! So, with the air conditioner in my rental set to full blast, I drove to my hotel to get settled and then meet up with Gauri & Jon for a short photography session before rejoining their family and friends for their Sangeet at Gauri’s home. And let me tell you, they both looked amazing! Gauri wore a gorgeous yellow lehenga and Jon’s sherwani colors matched her perfectly. With the trees and lush greenery in the background, it was a perfect Spring-like couple photography shoot!

Rounding out the evening were the festive choora ceremony and Sangeet, with the back patio packed to the hilt as people danced and celebrated, carrying a decorated water container with candles (called a gagger) on their heads (but without the water) ;-). It was incredible capturing so much excitement! If this was any indication of the kind of celebration that was to come for their wedding day, we were in for quite a treat indeed!
