I remember (almost like it was yesterday) when my little girl was scootering around the neighborhood, sleeping with mountains of stuffed animals, and trying relentlessly to concoct the best recipe for making slime (yes, she had a mad-scientist faze in there too!). She’s not so little anymore and while that earlier part of her childhood will always have a special place in my heart, I’m excited about what the future holds for her, and I’m also so very proud of who she’s become. They grow up so fast. And I’ve gotten to experience this first hand as the years just seem to fly by. But with a photograph, we can stop time, if only for a moment.
Most people in the PNW have their portraits taken in nature, perhaps in a field, a forest, near a lake, or with mountain scenery (and I do love photographing people in nature, especially here in the PNW where it is so incredibly beautiful). But my daughter has never been like most. She wanted her senior portraits to have an urban vibe and was interested in having them on a rooftop with views of downtown. So that is what we did! And the weather cooperated too with the sun breaking through the clouds as it got close to sunset for some golden hour goodness!
Congratulations to my amazing daughter! You are beautiful inside and out and I love you more than words can possibly describe.
Beautiful, Sophia.
