It has been a very very busy summer and beginning of fall this year, with so many late summer weddings! After an absolutely incredible adventure engagement session in Yosemite in early summer, Larry and Yi were married at the beautiful Hakone Gardens in Saratoga, CA. It was a beautiful intimate wedding and while COVID and distance kept many from being there physically, they were certainly there in spirit. Yi’s father gave a virtual speech from China and even came on for a video call to give a warm congratulations to the newlyweds at the reception.

It was a day filled with emotion, joy, and celebration and it all started with some traditional Chinese door games at their apartment in Sunnyvale! Yi’s bridesmaids conducted the games that Larry and his groomsmen would have to successfully complete in order for Larry to kiss his bride to be and head over to Hakone for their wedding ceremony. There were trivia questions, with each incorrect answer resulting in pushups (and there were lots and lots of pushups, let me tell you!). One of the questions was to guess how many teeth Yi has…. I mean…!!! Larry and his groomsmen also had to brush their teeth before entering, which initially seemed kind of like the reasonable thing to do, but the green toothpaste on the toothbrushes wasn’t actually toothpaste at all. It was wasabi!!! Despite the incredible difficulty of these tasks, Larry and the guys succeeded in reaching the room were Yi was waiting, but were foiled by the final and most difficult task of all: finding Yi’s shoes which were impossibly hidden in the room. Somewhere…

After scratching heads and looking in every conceivable location, twice, Larry emerged victorious!!! Congratulations Larry and Yi!
