It was just about exactly 2 years ago that J & S planned to have their intimate adventure elopement in Leavenworth, WA. They had dreamed of traveling across the country from their home in Maryland to share this amazing time in their lives with their immediate families and a few close friends, all surrounded by the beauty of the Cascade mountains in the green of Spring. But then came the pandemic, and like so many couples these past few years, they had to improvise and change their plans. Rather than wait indefinitely to get married, they eloped back home, but we kept in touch, waiting until the right time when some of their family and friends could fly in from Malaysia. And so in late May, 2 years after their originally planned trip, they finally made it out to the Pacific Northwest to celebrate. They got to play in the snow at Hurricane Ridge and Mount Rainier, hike some cool trails, have a snowy photoshoot at Snoqualmie Pass (see more of that beautiful adventure engagement session here), and finally spend a few nights with their whole group at an amazing cabin in the orchards just above Leavenworth.

I met up with them in the early afternoon and we captured some images of these two around the cabin and then headed to some other spots on the outskirts of Leavenworth where we walked a ways up the hill and found some beautiful wildflower fields that had just come into bloom. Then we headed back to their cabin where they joined their guests for a lovely dinner celebration overlooking the river and mountains. It was the perfect spot for an intimate dinner! These two looked absolutely amazing! They truly make such a lovely couple and they were an absolute pleasure to work with. I’m reminded of how thankful I am to have had the opportunity to photograph so many wonderfully nice couples!
