This is the day. So much led up to this. From the maiya ceremonies with family coming from around the world to partake, the beautiful mehndi carefully painted on the bride’s hands and feet, the jago and sangeet celebrations with dancing and laughter, and the countless hours of preparations… Everything was for this day – the day that Manpreet and Hardy would be married and commit to spend the rest of their lives together.
The preparations began long before the sun would rise, with Hardy getting ready at his family’s home in Sacramento and Manpreet at her family’s home in Morgan Hill. Then, it was off to the San Jose Gurdwara for their Punjabi Sikh wedding ceremony. Manpreet and Hardy both looked amazing! Manpreet wore a gorgeous red, orange, and gold lengha with beautiful peacocks embroidered near the bottom. We loved her absolutely stunning veil-style chunni and her beautifully detailed jewelry with colors that matched her lengha. Hardy wore an intricately embroidered sherwani with gold jewelry accents and a handsome red chunni (scarf). Together, these two looked absolutely incredible!
Congratulations Hardy and Manpreet! Thank you so much for letting us photograph your beautiful wedding! We loved capturing the highlights throughout the day and since there are so many, I’m going to have to split this into a few posts! 🙂 This post will feature the preparations, the baraat & milni, and the beginning of their lovely ceremony. Enjoy part I!We loved her veil-style chunni! The groom’s cousins place a decorative sehra over his turban.
