San Francisco Bay Area & East Bay Wedding Photographer | Amy & Harish Engaged

Anyone who spent last weekend in the Bay Area knows the weather was a bit “iffy,” to say the least. Some places got downpours, others barely saw much rain at all. With their wedding coming up in just over a month, we decided to go for it. And I’m super glad we did! But there were definitely a few moments before the session when I started to question that resolve. For starters, as I drove closer to our location, the puddles seemed to get larger and the rain came heavier with each and every mile. Not a good sign! I arrived at the park in an almost torrential downpour, also not a good sign! Instead of my usual hiking around and looking for more new cool spots, I sat in my car staring up at the sky, looking for light – a break in the clouds, a brightening of the sky, anything that might mean an end to the rain… I could’t call Amy & Harish because there was no coverage over there for miles… And to think this was all part of a 20% chance of showers forecast…

Being from the Seattle area, I’ve spent some time in the rain and lived my younger years under the almost constant threat of rain. Believe me, we never let a 20% chance of rain ruin any of our plans, that is for sure. But this being California, when it rains, it doesn’t just sprinkle off and on all day like Seattle. It all-out pours! And then its done… And that is exactly what happened. Literally, as soon as we got out of our cars, umbrellas in hand, ready to mud-slog it if need be, the rain stopped. The sun came out (well, off-and-on at least). And we rocked the session!

I have to give props to Amy & Harish for braving the ominous weather. They didm’t let that spoil the mood. In fact, I think the cloud cover and wet ground added some drama to the scenery. We had a blast hiking around and finding so many cool shots along the way. Harish can pack a pretty amazing picnic too! Both looked amazing and I loved their outfits. I won’t go so far as to say I hope it rains for my next session, but I will say this: A little rain before a shoot? Bring it!

Thank you both for the awesome session! Enjoy a sneak peek at a few of the many highlights! Much more to show you, for sure! I can’t wait for your wedding next month in San Francisco! 🙂
Had some fun with this one…!YUM!
