Sammamish Indian Wedding Photographer | James Thomas Long Photography | Parveen’s Mehndi Celebration!

A few days before her wedding day, an Indian bride will have her hands, forearms, and feet decorated with intricate henna designs called Mehndi (mehendi). It is a lengthy process, typically lasting over 2 hours, but the end result is absolutely spectacular! She’ll leave the henna on until it dries, leaving a beautiful (temporary of course) henna tattoo.

Having been an Indian wedding photographer in the San Francisco and now the Sammamish WA area for many years now, I’ve seen many brides with mehndi and I have to say, Parveen’s was absolutely gorgeous! I love the intricate detail and it was certainly a treat to be able to capture the whole process as her mehndi artist decorated the beautiful bride. And as her family and friends arrived, many from out of town, you could feel the excitement build in anticipation of all of the celebration in the days ahead. Oh, yes, this was a big one! And we’re just getting started here…! More posts coming soon from the wedding events of this lovely couple, Parveen & Dinesh!

Congratulations Parveen & Dinesh! I’m so excited to begin showing sneak peeks of your amazing wedding! Enjoy this first one!
