I must live in the luckiest state in the country… After all, they say it is good luck to have rain on your wedding day, so we must have no shortage of luck here! And with rain showers all afternoon and into the evening, it follows that Rachel and Nick must have a pot of gold or something waiting for them! 😉 Yes, summer seemed to abruptly end in early September for the Seattle area this year, but these two didn’t let a little rain spoil their day. On the contrary, they reveled in it! Armed with my trusty umbrella (that I take everywhere I shoot these days), we went out on that early September day into the fields around Red Barn Studios in Chehalis WA and these two had an amazing time celebrating their love! It was awesome!
It didn’t rain the entire time… just well, most of it. But I have to say though, there is something romantic about the rain. It’s that soft light… it’s being huddling together under the umbrella keeping each other warm… or it is dancing like you just don’t care…! Rachel and Nick did it all! But the latter was my favorite. With their background in performing as acrobats in a traveling circus, when these two perform, it’s like magic! And wait until you see all of their colleagues together as well! Guests were juggling, hoisting the couple up… it was seriously incredible! Full of heartfelt moments with each other and with family, celebration that even included a ring piñata, and all of it in a beautiful, rustic farm setting in small town halfway between Seattle and Portland made for a truly amazing day.
Congratulations Rachel and Nick! I’m so happy for both of you and can’t wait for you to see all of the images from your wedding day. For now, enjoy your first sneak peek at a few of the many highlights!
