I had the honor and privilege of capturing this beautiful Mount Rainier vow renewal between two of the nicest people I’ve ever gotten to work with. They were actually married 8 years ago, but because of religious expectations at the time, they never got to have the kind of wedding experience that they really wanted. I’m happy to say that this time, they did! She finally got to wear a beautiful dress that she actually loved and with it’s long, intricate lace and boho style, she looked absolutely amazing! He wore a sandy-grey suit and a boutonniere to match her floral crown, which looked pretty awesome too and they complemented each other so incredibly well!

We settled on a trail up to a fire lookout near Mount Rainier because we knew it would have amazing 360 views, including The Mountain itself. I had never actually been up this particular trail, but I’ve become quite good at researching online and finding good spots and as anyone who has ever been on one of these adventures with me can attest, I thrive in new places! With a dense overcast and even heavy drizzle in places on the way up, it was actually sunny and about 20 degrees warmer up above 6000 feet where we started our hike! We all met up at the parking area and headed up the trail on what was a pretty warm, bright late August day. And once we got to the lookout, we were blown away! Seriously, it was incredible!

She had 2 close friends accompany us and one of them served as master of ceremonies for their beautiful vow renewal. And beautiful is a huge understatement. What they wrote and said about each other wa so incredibly touching – even after being married for 8 years. But it wasn’t all emotional tear-jerking, it was full of laughter too. In fact, I’m trying to recall a ceremony where there was this much laughter and I’m coming up empty! And I’ve seen a few ceremonies… 😉

Seeing them celebrate, seeing how happy they are together, capturing how amazing they look in this beautiful place… I just can’t help but smile. I’m so happy for these two and what an incredible day this was!
