I’ve been photographing this lovely family for quite a few years now – since well before their youngest was born! They came up from CA and have family in Portland, so we set up a time to meet near Mount Rainier during one of their visits. We lucked out with a beautiful day where The Mountain was fully out and with the snow having recently melted out, the wildflowers were also in full bloom. The colors were incredible, with reds, blues, whites, yellows, pinks, and more scattered throughout the meadows! And their outfits colors worked nicely with the spring-like mountain meadow setting that we had! It’s amazing how fast kids grow up!

Mount Rainier National Park is such an incredibly beautiful place, but photographing families there can be a challenge because we have to stay on trails and accessible rocks and boulders. Being able to visit and take photographs there is a privilege and so we always follow “leave no trace” guidelines to preserve the fragile meadows for others to enjoy too. We can still run and play, but we just have to stay on the trails when we do. It takes some patience and restraint and this family did an awesome job of that! We had an incredible time exploring the area (I think we pretty much took every single trail around) and we got to include their grandparents as well!
