I always love the chance to head towards Mount Rainier. It is just so beautifully awe-inspiring and humbling at the same time, absolutely towering over everything around it. One has only to take a summertime stroll through the aptly named Paradise, with its abundance of conical fir and mountain hemlock trees, surrounded by lush, green grasses, pristine alpine lakes, and abundant wildflowers to realize that this could very well be the most beautiful place on the planet. Covered in snow 9 months of the year, most life up there has just a brief window from July through September to bloom and grow, so there really is no “Summer” season to speak of, only Spring and a very brief Fall before the snow returns. This year, the snow has melted exceptionally fast, making the speed with which Mount Rainier’s glaciers are receding all the more apparent.
I met up with this lovely family further down the mountain in an area by the river where there were plenty of rocks and logs to stand and walk on, as well as views of “The Mountain.” They were visiting from the Midwest and wanted to have some beautiful images of their family together in the mountains to remember their summer trip to the Pacific Northwest. Their colorful outfits really popped among the trees and rocks and I loved the boho look of the girl’s outfits especially. I’m sure I’ve probably overstated this way too much, but boho styles in general look very very good in nature! We had a blast exploring the area, climbing on logs, and laughing about a particular word that the boys found funny (I won’t repeat it here though)!
Thank you all for the wonderful session! It was so great to meet you and spend the evening with your family! Enjoy a sneak peek at a few of the many highlights!
