If you can brave the cold, winter photography sessions are a great way to do things a bit different from the norm. And while bundling up is certainly an option, if you can bring some of your own unique style to your winter shoot, even better. And that is exactly what this amazing HS senior did. She loves to ski and wanted her session in the snow, so we headed up into the Cascades on a crisp sunny day, hiked into the pond and had an incredible time catching that late afternoon golden hour light. And she wore some absolutely amazing outfits (seriously, that furry coat!!!) despite the cold and totally rocked it out there! It’s been a mild winter so far, so we took advantage of the reflections on the sunny side of the pond that still hadn’t iced over and then later on, joined the families with their kids out sliding around on the ice at the other end. I’ve done countless sessions in the snow, but I’d never actually photographed anyone on an iced-over pond before, so that was new! It’s hard to believe this place will be closed to the public for 10 years, beginning in May, but I’m glad I got to enjoy it at least one last time. And who knows, maybe I’ll make it out there again before then…
