East San Francisco Bay Area South Asian Wedding Photographer | Harsh & Meenu: Part I

I’m excited to post another gorgeous Indian Wedding – the Sikh wedding of Harsh & Meenu! I remember when Harsh called me to see about photographing his wedding. It was just a few weeks before the wedding (literally) and I was coming off the busiest late summer and fall that I can remember. I remember telling him I just couldn’t take on any more projects and wishing him luck. When he called back a day or two later explaining that he had tried to find another photographer that he would be willing to hire, but had finally given up, saying he didn’t want any of the other photographers out there – he wanted us! And that is something that I just couldn’t turn down. Suffice to say, it was pretty awesome working with this lovely couple and their wonderful families!

Full of color and loads of excitement, this was quite the spectacular day! I’ll start with Meenu’s gorgeous heels (sorry in advance for posting 3 images with the heels here – just couldn’t resist!). Then, there was Harsh’s intricately detailed sword (that I’m still quite in awe of)! Of course, there was Meenu’s incredible lengha, and the list goes on… And while the day itself is long gone, I’ve really enjoyed being able to relive so many of these incredible moments as I edit the images. I love the look that Meenu has as she’s having her makeup applied and preparing for her big day. It’s a look full of so many emotions all at once that words fall short… absolutely beautiful! And then as Harsh has help putting on his Serha to cover his face… awesome!

Yes indeed, I love shooting the preparations! And so, Part I of the wedding of Harsh and Meenu features the preparations and the baraat. More to come in the next post. Congratulations Harsh & Meenu! Even though it goes without saying, I’ll go ahead and say it anyway, you both looked amazing!!

  1. […] I love this image, taken after sunset and just before the couple went back inside to join the reception. After the ceremony, it was off to the Lodi Hutchins Street Square for the reception. After the Doli/vidai, it was off to the grooms home to welcome the new bride. For part I, click here […]
