I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to photograph this lovely family every year for about 8 years now! It’s hard to believe how fast those years go by! Their youngest is now already 3 and their oldest is in middle school! I got to photograph them back in the fall of 2020 when they visited family in the Portland area and this year, I’m glad we were able to find another location in-between Seattle and Portland that would have plenty of space and opportunities for adventure! And we lucked out with the weather too – any day in late November (or December) without rain can be a rare gift!
I’d never been to this park before, but with a little research, I found it and knew it would be amazing. And it certainly did not disappoint! We explored part of the park (it’s huge!) and found tons of cool stumps, rocks, fields of tall grass, and pretty much a little of everything, including some mud. But then again, expecting to have an outdoor session without mud in Western WA any time in November through March would be sort of like visiting Arizona in July for a week and expecting to not ever see the sun. Yeah, we’re used to the mud here. 😉 Oh, and there were no shortages of sticks either! Their youngest was all smiles from the gates once we got going and loved being hoisted up onto her dad’s shoulders. She was on the lookout for collecting rocks while her older siblings preferred finding the ideal walking sticks.
Thank you all for another absolutely wonderful family photography session! It was so great to see you all again and I can’t believe how fast the kids continue to grow! I’m so glad we’ve been able to beautifully document your family over the years through photographs!
