Early fall is such a spectacular time in the PNW for portrait sessions, especially when you head into the mountains. That is literally my favorite time of year to shoot in the mountains because the colors are coming out, the bugs are pretty much gone, the weather is still (usually) warm enough and we’re more likely to get some beautifully ominous skies without getting wet. We pretty much had it all for this amazing senior’s session! I had photographed his older brother a few years prior and now it was their youngest’s turn. He chose one of my favorite spots with giant tree stumps and mountain views all around! We had to hike in a ways to get there, so it was a bit of an adventure, but it was totally worth it and we had it pretty much all to ourselves! His hair that kept moving a bit with the breeze, and his casual attire gave much of the session the feel of a artist’s album cover, which I thought was pretty cool! We had a great time finding super cool scenes to photograph and stumps for him to climb on – he’s actually into climbing, so this location was definitely a good fit for him!
Thank you all for another amazing session! And congratulations on raising two very wonderful boys! It has been an honor to be your senior and family photographer over the years! Congratulations to this incredible young man and the class of 2025!
