If you are looking for a truly epic place to have your adventure engagement session or elopement in the PNW, it is hard to imagine anything more dramatic and awe-inspiring than Mount Rainier. I always love to get up there every chance I get, so when these two decided they wanted to hike up to above 7000 feet on The Mountain, I was pretty excited! Our original day we had planned was completely fogged, so we rescheduled for the following week when the forecast was more favorable and had spectacular views up there! And these two looked amazing, especially when she wore her gorgeous red dress and he wore his blue suit up at our final destination! She even had matching red heels!

The hike was mostly steady up, but didn’t take us long even though we stopped several times along the way to capture a few images in their more casual attire. These two are both former distance runners at the UW (and still run pretty regularly), so they are in great shape! They even brought along their letterman’s jackets for a few photos along the way! We didn’t see any bears (thankfully), but did see a few super cute locals, including a lounging marmot who was sprawled out on part of the trail, enjoying a little cool dirt shaded by a rock. And then there was the adorable little chipmunk munching away on scavenged morsels at the highest point of our hike where a number of other hikers were also stopped, clearly capitalizing on the busy hiking season for sure!😉

We stayed up there past sunset to catch some images with the sky changing colors and then headed back down with our headlamps to end our little adventure. I’m excited to capture their wedding next summer!
