K & A got married at the beautiful Swiftwater Cellars in Suncadia, Cle Elum on an unusually chilly June day. With temperatures mainly in the 40s and a chilly wind blowing through, along with some rain showers, Swiftwater Cellars had plenty of indoor spaces and a heated patio area for guests to warm up, eat, and celebrate. That’s not to say that the wind didn’t get to really make its presence known. About half way through the ceremony, the wind nearly knocked over the floral archway that the couple was standing under, but some quick reactions by the bride’s sister and one of the groom’s brothers prevented it from coming down!
And let me just say that these two are such a lovely, wonderful couple! I am so happy that these two found each other! And I am glad that their families were able to come from far and wide to witness their wedding and celebrate with them. Bringing family together is one of the beautiful things about weddings. And while I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings, each and every wedding is so incredible important and special to the couple and their families. As their wedding photographer, I have a great responsibility to not only document the couple’s wedding day as beautifully, artistically, and authentically as I can, but also to capture the family and friends that made the journey to be there and celebrate with them. Who knows when and if we’ll get to see all of those who are near and dear to us again? The bride’s father (pictured smiling with glasses below) unexpectedly passed away at his home in Arizona a week after the wedding. He had been battling dementia and just being at the ceremony in the cold wind was difficult for him, but he was there to see his daughter get married. And now, through photographs, they can always remember this time – this last time that they shared together with their father.
Thank you both for the opportunity to photograph your beautiful wedding. I enjoyed capturing your wedding day as you celebrated with family and friends. And although we didn’t get to do that sunset photoshoot of the two of you together at the end of your wedding day, we will. Whenever you are ready. Congratulations to both of you and may your photographs bring back joyful memories from your wedding day.
