This amazing senior is headed to the US Air Force Academy in just a few months, so I’m glad we got the chance to capture these images of this exciting time in his life before he heads off to new adventures after High School! And it’s awesome that we got to capture these for him in the Spring! Outdoor Spring sessions are always a lot of fun and quite a treat because of all that brand new greenery out there. The PNW is green year-round (thanks largely to our abundant evergreen trees), but Spring and early Summer really bring out the green in ways that no other seasons can. Plus, most locations are not as crowded people (and photoshoots) as you’ll see in late Summer and especially Fall. And not having to deal with huge crowds when you’re trying to get portraits is a very very good thing!

We wandered around the lake and had a great time exploring. We even found some new spots that I hadn’t yet explored, even though I photograph here fairly often! And nothing sparks my creativity more than new, undiscovered locations! The wind even died down just at the end for us to capture some great reflections on the water too! He brought along some great color choices for his outfits – colors that work particularly well against all of the green of Spring. He’s truly a wonderful young man and every time I asked him about the Air Force, his face would light up a bit more and you could just tell he’s super excited! And it was a pleasure meeting his Mom as well who helped us out quite a bit throughout!
