I think this lovely family of ten may just be the largest single family I’ve photographed thus far, and that is saying something because I’ve photographed quite a number of families over the 14+ years I’ve been a full-time photographer! And while it’s always a challenge trying to keep everyone in a large group engaged, especially when it’s cold and when you’ve got young kids and older kids too, nevertheless, we rocked it out there on a that chilly morning!
Everything worked out perfectly, which was especially awesome since this was the last holiday season they’d all be together for a while, with their oldest daughter getting married soon and one of their sons leaving for a few years of missions work. It’s times like these that I’m reminded of just how fast kids grow up and I’m so glad we got the chance to capture these images for this wonderful family while they are together in their hometown!
And even though it was a bit cold that morning, we lucked out on a sunny and dry day, which is rare for December in Western Washington. And it was fun to photograph in this space with the morning sunlight (as opposed to my usual late day sunlight) because the sunlight was coming from a completely different direction, which in a way makes this like a whole new location! So that was pretty awesome!
Thank you all for the absolutely wonderful session! It was so great to meet you and a pleasure capturing these (and many more) beautiful images for you!
