For this cross-country running and outdoor-loving senior, we opted for a more adventurous location with plenty of things to climb on and space to roam for his senior portrait session. A warm wind was whipping through the pass and a smokey haze was looming to the South and West, creating an almost apocalyptic orange sun. Thankfully, the smoke never quite reached us during the session and we were able to explore the area and have an amazing session! Wind can be difficult to work with, but because of that nice smoke-diffused light, we didn’t have to fight the wind and instead, allowed it to do wonders with his hair, which was pretty cool! I also found out that he’s a star choir singer for his high school, so this is a young man with multiple talents!
His casual attire worked really well with the surroundings, with the dark (but not too dark as that gets swallowed up by shadows) denim and a few different plaid flannel shirts, along with a textured blue one. The red flannel popped really well against the backdrops we had to work with, as did the other colors he wore. The brown shoes were a nice touch as well, ensuring that not too much attention was drawn to his feet. It is important to choose outfits that not only make you look and feel good, but that also fit the surroundings. And I think he pretty much nailed it!
Congratulations and thank you for the amazing session! It was a pleasure working with you and your family! I wish you and the rest of the class of 2023 an epic senior year and all the best in your future endeavors!
