It had been a number of years since I photographed this lovely family, who recently added a new baby girl! For their family session in the San Francisco Bay Area, we opted for a location by the water to escape the heat. With temperatures soaring well over 100F all over the Bay Area, I’m glad we were able to find a spot right by the Bay where it was a good 20 degrees cooler (literally, from the freeway exit to the parking lot by the water, which was barely even a mile, the temperature dropped that much!

We had a great time with a breeze coming off the water keeping us cool and what an adorable baby girl! Her two big brothers were so great and patient with her too! They walked with her, held her, swung her a little – it was adorable to capture! We explored the trees and tall grass before heading closer to the water as the sun got lower in the sky and then had views of San Francisco in the distance, along with SFO where we could see planes constantly coming and going. Their boys loved balancing on the rocks that lined part of the shore and their baby girl was fascinated with the little rocks and sand along the beach. I remember taking my own daughter to the beach when she was that age and having a hard time ever getting her to look up she was so fascinated by the sand. I love capturing this age!
