Early Spring weather returned for Danielle and Connor’s wedding in North Bend. The temperature was back in the 40s with light rain throughout the day and after that ridiculously hot weather we had for this time of year the weekend before (pushing 80 degrees!), it felt great to have things back to normal! Perhaps I’m just weird, but I love the rain and cold! It gave us some beautiful, moody light, plus, it kept the crowds down at Rattlesnake for us, which normally would be more like a zoo on a warm Saturday with people everywhere, but instead we pretty much had it completely to ourselves! And you know what they say – rain on your wedding day is good luck! Win, win, win, win!
Connor actually grew up in North Bend, so he’s right at home with Northwest weather and Danielle handled the cold and elements in her dress beautifully! I should point out that we had some practice for their engagement session last January – it was cold with wet snow falling and Danielle rocked it in her dress. So I never doubted for a second that she’d be able to have an amazing day no matter what the weather threw at us!
They got ready at their family’s homes in North Bend and had their ceremony in the back yard under a tree, bristling with new buds that sprang up with the recent warm weather. Danielle’s dress looked absolutely stunning! And her long flowy veil!!!!!!! Just gorgeous!!! Seriously, they both looked amazing! And I loved the all black suits the guys wore and the colors Danielle chose for her bridesmaid’s dresses! From the dresses to the decor, it was truly a beautiful diy wedding! And just wait until you see their cake that Danielle made herself! She’s quite the talented and skilled artisan herself, running her own local bakery, Decorative Desserts by Danielle!
That’s it for now – I’ll let the images do the rest of the talking! 🙂 Congratulations Danielle and Connor! Thank you for sharing your day with me and enjoy your first sneak peek at a few of the many highlights from your wedding!
The officiant gave all of the guys these things and said something about them helping with hangovers in some way. I just can’t seem to remember what they are called!OK, a shot with the ceremonial sword and the other umm thing… – how could I not post one!!! This happened. The officiant did his signature spin-jump before the ceremony! You just don’t see this very often, but I kind of wish I did! 🙂 Their officiant was really awesome and everyone who witnessed the ceremony could tell he has a lot of fun with his job! Plus, he hails from Fall City, which means he lives here in the Snoqualmie Valley, and therefore, he is even more awesome!
I love how they incorporated some Hawaiian traditions into the ceremony! I love how he’s holding her “hand” here! These two were just adorable! You can never have too much sword action, even during a wedding ceremony. That said, I think the sword-waving caught the flower girl a little by surprise. Next time, she’ll be ready! 🙂When you’ve been dutifully holding those rings and waiting and waiting and waiting a long, long time and suddenly… they say “you’re up, son.” Yep, it’s go time. They also exchanged leis.
Congratulations Danielle and Connor! More coming in part 2!!!
