It was a calm early Spring day at Snoqualmie Falls for Emily and Jeff’s Snoqualmie Valley engagement session. I love the view of the falls from below, with the Great Northern Hotel… ahem, I mean Salish Lodge perched on the bluff above. The bottom of the falls is littered with an ever-changing field of debris that’s been battered and kicked around by powerful torrents of water that can rise significantly during warm, wet storms. But on this day, save for a bit of mud and navigating a few wet slippery logs and rocks, it was really just a walk in the park. 😉
It wasn’t happenstance that took us to the falls for this engagement session. Emily and Jeff are actually getting married at the beautiful Salish Lodge in just a few weeks! They are both Geology majors that met while completing their degrees at Western Washington University and despite the pandemic, they are getting married and just bought their first home! That’s right – in your face, covid!!!! I loved photographing these two having a great time together out there. We hiked through some mud, climbed some wet, mossy boulders, and created beautiful memories for this lovely couple. And, I discovered that I’m not the only one who gets a bit sad when winter ends. Jeff’s favorite season is winter too! Since I was old enough to remember, cold, grey (preferably snowy) days are my favorite. I guess you could say I’ve found the perfect place to call home, except I would like to see more snow…! 😉
Congratulations Emily and Jeff! You both rocked it out there and I had an amazing time with both of you! I can’t wait to see you again in a few weeks for your wedding day! Enjoy a sneak peek at a few of the many highlights!
