We could all use a little cheer right now and what better way than to look back at some wonderful memories of family time in the snow, before life as we knew it changed. The last weekend in February, I took the short drive up the hill to a place near Snoqualmie Pass to photograph this lovely family of four in the snow! With winter in full swing and rain falling in the Puget Sound lowlands, heading a little ways up to the snow was the perfect alternative to slogging it through the mud and rain below. Plus, I LOVE the snow! I always have and I hope to make family sessions in the snow a regular thing from here on out – for those that want something a little different and more adventurous! 🙂
As we were hiking in, it started snowing really hard and by the time we reached our destination, visibility was pretty low, but within an hour, it cleared up and we had patches of blue sky showing through! It actually worked out really well because we got a nice mix of clearer skies with great views and foggy with snow falling for a real wintry look. And what an awesome family! They braved the snow and cold and had an incredible outing together too! This was so much more than a family session – it was an afternoon of family time too! And that is what my sessions are all about! 🙂 I loved the scarves and hats they brought along and how great these two brothers were together. We did some running, dancing, and moving around to stay warm, and then had a little snowball fight at the end!
Thank you all for the wonderful session! I really enjoyed spending the afternoon with you on this little snowy adventure!
