The rainy season started a bit early this year in Seattle. I remember the exact day that it all began because it was the day that Chris and Kayla were married. They say that rain on your wedding day is a good sign. Well, not only did it rain later that evening during the reception, it came down in sheets! With thunder… and flashes of lightning literally like every few seconds!!! Growing up in the area, I have never seen such a spectacular display… ever! And the fact that the deluge held off until after everyone was inside enjoying the reception, well, we can treat that as an even better sign! Yep, even the skies decided it was time to celebrate for Chris and Kayla, and they decided they’d wait until after we had gotten all of our outdoor photographs done!
From the preparations at the Hyatt Olive 8, to their photographs at Freeway Park, and their lovely ceremony and reception at Melrose Market Studios, this was a day to remember in so many ways. Having spent the last few years in San Francisco and then having just moved back to the Seattle area literally a month before the wedding, Chris and Kayla had a lot on their plates. But we met beforehand to iron out the details, including finding the best locations nearby for their photographs and making sure there was adequate time for it all. And what an incredible day it was! Kayla looked amazing in her wedding gown and Chris was the perfect complement in his tailored blue suit. I loved the moody, intimate old brick setting at Melrose Market Studios. We even got to step out for some photographs near the Convention Center just before the rain began.
Congratulations Kayla and Chris! I had an amazing time with you and your family and friends! Enjoy this first sneak peek at a few of the many highlights and there is much more coming very soon!
