Amazing colors! An important pre-wedding celebration for Indian brides and their families is the Mehndi celebration. This Hindu wedding tradition is held in order to bless the bride and celebrate her transformation into marriage. Held a few days before the wedding, Tina’s Mehndi celebration included beautiful henna designs, family from all over the country, plus a ceremonial appearance by the groom, Niraj! It was certainly an event to remember and you can see some of the wonderful emotions and colors in this preview (with so many more images to come of course!). Enjoy your sneak peek Tina & Niraj and stay tuned for more sneak peeks to come shortly, including the big wedding day!
I love ring shots – there are more to come, including the best for last (which I will post with the wedding day photographs!)
The bride was not the only one to get mehndi – virtually all of the females had beautifully intricate designs on their hands.
I had to include these beautiful portraits of the bride’s grandmothers.
The groom’s family arrives!
Now that everyone has arrived, it is time to feast – a very important part of the Mehndi Celebration!
The pictures came out beautiful! I enjoyed looking at them.
[…] I absolutely love photographing all of the bright colors and details of Indian Wedding events! Each event was full of wonderful people too! This is a sneak peek at day 2 – the Making of the Bride & Groom ceremonies, each performed separately at the bride’s and groom’s houses. Tradition keeps these events separate, so this will be the first time that the bride and her family will see the groom’s ceremony and vice versa! Be sure to also have a look at the Sangeet and Mehndi celebration here. […]
