The Shagan (a Blessing Ceremony) was the second of several events leading up to the wedding of Rajneet & Amrit, but the first event that included the two of them together! Taking place at the bride’s parents’ home, this was a more intimate gathering of the two families to bless this wonderful young couple as they prepare for their wedding that would take place a few days later. I’ve included some of the highlights here and let me say that there were so many vibrant colors and beautiful expressions! Of course, I had to get a shot of him sporting some of those cool shades!Oh, and there was plenty of delicious food, by the way!Rajneet looked stunning!The bride’s family begins to gather by the entrance to welcome the groom and his family.The groom and his family arrive!Of course, there are always negotiations involved…! Here, the groom negotiates with the bride’s sisters and cousins to gain entry into their home.You can really see that determination on Amrit’s face!But soon, Amrit is welcomed as part of the family!Then it is off to the tent in the back yard for the Shagan.The groom’s mom must feed the bride first!Then they adorn her with jewelry.After the ring exchange, a lot of congratulations and blessings are in order!
