What an amazing wedding for this pair of Berkeley grads (who met while at Berkeley too, by the way)! I photographed them early last fall at their Alma mater, so working with them again on their wedding day was a breeze and a lot of fun, since we already knew each other and I could tell Nisha & Milan were already comfortable working with me. That’s another big advantage to doing an e-session (the other big advantage would be the great photographs, of course)! These two really make a cute couple and I really enjoyed working with them throughout. Let me tell you, the photographs from their wedding…. spectacular! So much color, so much emotion, and of course the bride, groom, and their families looked amazing! In fact, this blog post had to be split up because there are just too many beautiful images to show (that’s after I’ve already spent hours pulling my hair trying to decide which ones to show here). So this is part I: The preparations and the baraat… oh, and a little something about a certain someone’s shoes getting stolen by the bride’s family too to finish the post…! Congratulations Nisha & Milan and thank you so much for sharing your special day with us! Enjoy this first installment of your sneak peek and there’s much more to come soon! =]
I love this first image of the bride. After she was all ready, we had just a few minutes to run out to the backyard and take a few shots before everyone needed to leave for Canyon View. Those minutes were well spent indeed!
Doesn’t she look amazing!
My fabulous assistant (and beautiful wife!), Thuy took these shots of Milan getting ready. I love this one of Milan showing a photo of Nisha just after his proposal…!
And on to the baraat at Canyon View Dining Hall is San Ramon! I love photographing the baraat – from the dancing to the beautiful horse, it is full of emotion and color!
And of course, the bride’s side is preparing to welcome the groom and his family too! Everyone is dancing and having an amazing time!
Here comes the groom!
The bride’s mother and father try to feed Milan during the aarti, but as you can see, Milan and his family managed to block those initial attempts. Nudging my way in to get these shots was no small feet of course, but completely worth it!
Lastly, just as everyone was making their way to the mandap for the ceremony, a sudden flurry of activity occurred and within a few seconds, the bride’s family had stolen Milan’s shoes! This could prove to be costly indeed for Milan who will have to buy them back of course after the ceremony. To be continued…!
[…] I decided to start with a photograph of the couple from our brief shoot just after the ceremony and vidai. There are quite a few great spots around the Canyon View Dining Hall for photographs even in early afternoon sun. I love Milan’s adoring expression here! Then, it’s on to the ceremony! Wow! These people really know how to make a wedding ceremony beautiful. The way you capture the joy of the occasion on the expressions of the participants will make lifelong treasures of the images.
